Announcement of Opportunity for experiments to be conducted by ESA astronaut Marco Sieber during a mission on the ISS
The Swiss Delegation to ESA has, via ESA, released the Announcement of Opportunity for experiments to fly on the International Space Station (ISS) with Marco Sieber. All researchers, space tech experts and other members of the Swiss space community are now invited to submit their proposals in response to the Announcement.

Marco Sieber is Switzerland’s second ESA astronaut and the first Swiss national to possibly fly on a mission to the ISS. During their mission on board the ISS, ESA astronauts can dedicate some time to experiments from their country of origin.
In a first step, the Swiss Delegation to ESA, part of the State Secretariat of Education, Research and Innovation (SERI), called upon the Swiss space community to express their interest in providing potential experiments. The Call for Interest has shown that there is a wide interest.
As a next step, Swiss entities are now invited to respond to the Announcement of Opportunity released via ESA by submitting their proposal for a scientific experiment or technology demonstration to be selected as payloads on the flight. Proposals can be handed in on the OSIP platform of ESA, where you can find all relevant information:

The deadline for submission is: 5 January 2026, 23:59 CET.
