New NCCR call for proposals for social sciences and humanities
The Swiss Confederation’s decision earlier this year to launch new National Centres of Competence in Research (NCCRs) also included setting aside funding for at least one additional NCCR in the social sciences and humanities. Acting on behalf of the SERI, the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) published the call for proposals for this additional NCCR on 25 June 2026.
This call is aimed at researchers in the social sciences and humanities. The NCCR proposals are therefore expected to have a clear focus on issues in these fields. The selection procedure consists of several stages. Letters of intent must be submitted to the SNSF by 1 September 2026.
On 8 July 2026, the SNSF is hosting a webinar from 11am to 12pm to provide details about the call for proposals and the additional NCCR. Researchers and representatives from universities and research institutions will have the opportunity to ask questions following the presentation.
