Scholarships for the College of Europe in Bruges and Natolin
Founded in Bruges (Belgium) after the Second World War, the College of Europe promotes European cooperation and integration through postgraduate education and research. A second campus opened in Natolin (Warsaw, Poland) in 1993). These postgraduate programmes are designed to address Europe’s key challenges.
Campus profiles
The Bruges campus offers programmes focused on economics, law, political science and public administration, as well as international and diplomatic relations, delivering excellence and developing expertise in European affairs. These programmes lead to the following Master’s degrees: Master of Science in European Economic Studies, Master of European Law (LLM), Master of Arts in European Political and Governance Studies and Master of Arts in EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies.
The Natolin campus offers a postgraduate programme in European Interdisciplinary Studies. Eligible applicants include graduates in economics, law, political science and public administration, or history, as well as candidates from other disciplines who can demonstrate strong academic performance and a keen interest in European issues. This programme leads to the Master of Arts in European Interdisciplinary Studies.
Admission requirements
In order to qualify for a Swiss scholarship, applicants must hold a Master’s degree that satisfies Swiss standards and have completed over two years of study within the Swiss education system (see Art. 18 of the Ordinance on International Cooperation in Education and Exchange Programmes, VIZMB, SR 414.513). Academic qualifications are a key selection criterion. Good command of the College’s two working languages, French and English, is also essential and must be evidenced by a certificate of proficiency.
As study programmes and admission requirements may change, we recommend regularly checking the College website or reaching out to the College directly for the latest information.
Admission procedure
Swiss applicants must use the College’s online application form. The application window typically runs from mid-October to mid-January, with exact dates published on the College’s website.
A preliminary review of submitted applications takes place in February. Shortlisted applicants are invited to an interview in Bern in April, where they meet a selection committee comprised of representatives of the College, Swiss higher education institutions and the Swiss Federal Administration (see Art. 20 of the Ordinance on International Cooperation in Education and Exchange Programmes, VIZMB (SR 414.513)).
