Funding for collaborative projects 2021–2024 under the Horizon package
If you are involved in a collaborative project 2021–2024 under the Horizon package that has been approved by the European Commission, you can submit your application for SERI funding here.
Financial guarantees
Project partners in Switzerland are not funded by the European Commission (EC) in the 2021–2024 calls for proposals, which is why SERI has provided financial guarantees:
A step-by-step guide to preparing your funding application
Please carefully read the Guidelines for Swiss Participants in Collaborative Projects before submitting your funding application.Funding applications that do not meet SERI's requirements described in these guidelines will be rejected.
How to submit your funding application
In order to receive funding, funding applications for the 2021–2024 calls must be submitted to SERI within six months of the signing of the grant agreement. This rule applies from 01.08.2025.
Please note: The volume of funding requests, including those already submitted and those anticipated, is very high. It is expected that the requested funding will exceed the available funds. For this reason, and pursuant to the relevant Ordinance, SERI applies measures based on an order of priority to all pending funding requests in relation to 2021–2024 calls.
SERI reserves the right to impose funding cuts should the costs of the Swiss participant be disproportionally high. This includes the right to mandate an external expert panel to review the Swiss project part.

Federal administration units
It is not possible for central federal administration units to receive direct funding from SERI. However, as agreed with the Federal Finance Administration, there is a specific procedure for the funding of relevant projects.
