VET Graduate Employment Barometer

The VET graduate employment barometer monitors first-time job prospects of VET students after graduation.

The purpose of the VET graduate employment barometer is to monitor first-time job prospects of VET graduates on the basis of both supply and demand indicators. The supply-side analysis focuses on the size and composition of VET graduates as a group. The demand-side analysis looks at the number and nature of job postings for VET graduates in the press and on the internet, thereby shedding light on the current job market situation and revealing fluctuations in the number of job postings.

The VET graduate employment barometer is part of the University of Zurich’s Swiss Job Market Monitor. It was developed between 2010 and 2012 on behalf of the Federal Office for Professional Education and Technology OPET, now the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation SERI, in cooperation with the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs SECO.
