This report in German is based on a SERI-commissioned study conducted by Christian Rammer and Markus Trunschke from the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) in Mannheim (D). The study reveals that when compared with particularly innovation-oriented metropoles of similar size in large European, North American and East Asian countries, Switzerland by no means comes out on top, contrary to what we find in country-to-country comparisons.
