The report was drafted in response to Postulate 12.3343 ‘Support Measures for Young Academics and Researchers’ submitted by the Science, Education and Culture Committee of the Council of States (SECC-S) and contains an analysis of the situation at Swiss higher education institutions. It also shows to what extent Swiss universities have succeeded in recruiting and adequately supporting a sufficient number of Swiss nationals for academic positions. Finally, the extent to which transparent career paths exist and transitions between universities and the labour market take place are also examined.
